The race for control of Congress descended into chaos.
Republicans could lose everything because of one Congressman.
And a shocking sex scandal just took this ugly turn for the worse.
RINO Congressman Tony Gonzalez supports amnesty for illegal aliens and voted for Joe Biden’s bill funding red flag gun confiscation laws.
Now Gonzalez is under fire for an alleged affair with former staffer Regina Santon-Aviles that her husband said led to Aviles killing herself last September by dousing herself in gasoline and lighting herself on fire.
The San Antonio Express broke the shocking story wide open by publishing text messages, including one from April 28, 2025, in which Aviles appeared to admit to the affair with Gonzalez.
“I had an affair with our boss, and I’m fine,” Santos-Aviles wrote.
Aviles’ husband, Adria, is now speaking out and told Express that Gonzalez needs to be held accountable.
“I said the truth would come to light when it’s time, and the time is now,” Aviles told the San Antonio Express-News. “Tony abused his power. He should have held himself to a higher standard as a congressional leader.
“I hope that Tony will stand up and be accountable for his actions,” Aviles continued.
Adrian said he discovered the affair in May 2024 when he caught hiswife texting Gonzalez.
“I kind of looked over her shoulder, and I saw that she was texting Tony,” Aviles continued, saying that he “couldn’t bear to sit by” and watch Gonzales “lie on my wife’s name.”
Adrian blasted Gonzalez for “denying the fact that he’s ruined somebody’s life.”
“He talks with two tongues. The Bible says to stay away from people who talk with two tongues,” Aviles fumed.
Aviles was referring to Gonzalez denying the affair, claiming the accusations were the result of “people throwing rocks at me, saying I’m doing nasty things.”
“The rumors are completely untrue,” Gonzalez added,
The New York Post reached out for comment, and Gonzalez issued a statement where he didn’t deny the affair and instead attacked his primary opponent, Brendon Herrera.
In the statement, Gonzalez said he is “not going to engage in these personal smears and instead will remain focused on helping President Trump secure the border and improve the lives of all Texans.”
“Ms. Santos-Aviles was a kind soul who devoted her life to making the community a better place,” Gonzalez added. “Her efforts led to improvements in school safety, healthcare, and rural water like never before.”
“It’s shameful that [primary rival] Brandon Herrera is using a disgruntled former staffer to smear her memory and score political points, conveniently pushing this out the very day early voting started,” the lawmaker concluded.
Aviles said his wife’s downward spiral began after she texted fellow staff members about the alleged affair and Gonzalez iced her out.
“They severed communications with her. They gave her a month off. They’re essentially trying to push her out … and make her quit,” Aviles stated.
Aviles said his wife “started spiraling” after he discovered the affair and grew “noticeably depressed” and “lost.”
The night before she committed suicide, Regina sent her husband one final note.
“She reached out to me, told me she loved me, and that, you know, she wanted to work things out,” Aviles revealed. “She wanted her family back.”
