For months, speculation continued to grow that Hillary Clinton set in motion plans for a 2024 presidential campaign.
Those rumors finally came to a head.
Hillary Clinton said one word in response to a question about running in 2024.
In an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Hillary Clinton tried to cool the talk of her mounting a third presidential campaign in 2024.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski asked Clinton if the former two-time failed candidate was going to run again in two years.
“No, no, no,” Clinton answered.
“No, no, no.”

There is far less to this answer than meets the eye.
And with politicians, it is instructive to watch what they do as opposed to what they say.
In Hillary Clinton’s case, Clinton is hosting campaign events for down-ballot Democrat candidates.
Clinton held a virtual fundraiser for Ohio Democrat Senate hopeful Tim Ryan.
Clinton also delivered a major speech attacking Donald Trump as a threat to democracy at the New York State Democrat Party convention.
The fact that Clinton attended her home state party’s convention provided Clinton the fig leaf of cover that she was not plotting a presidential comeback.
But it was the content of Clinton’s speech that stood out.
Even though Clinton was speaking at a state party convention, Clinton focused her attacks on Donald Trump and played to the corporate media and liberal base’s grievances about Donald Trump.
Clinton may be a terrible candidate, but she is not dumb.
Hillary Clinton is not going to openly campaign for president while Joe Biden is still serving as president.
Clinton making it known she wants to push Joe Biden aside is the easiest way to alienate the party base and donors.
If Joe Biden did eventually announce he would not seek re-election, Clinton looking like she shoved him off the stage would galvanize Biden’s supporters and contributors to back another candidate in the primary out of payback.
Even if Clinton still won the nomination, it could be a Pyrrhic victory as a chunk of Biden voters could sit on their hands and doom Clinton to defeat.
Hillary Clinton will bide her time and wait and see if Biden’s poll numbers sink again after appearing to receive a temporary bounce following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Clinton will also see how badly Democrats fare in the November midterm elections.
And finally, Clinton will wait and see if Joe Biden decides not to seek re-election.
Clinton would never challenge a sitting president.
But Clinton is not ready to give up her life’s ambition of being the first woman president.
In the event Biden does not run in 2024, Clinton wants a turnkey operation she can activate in an instant.
