Fox News earned the trust of its audience by questioning the narratives of the so-called “mainstream” media.
But now Fox News’s credibility is in jeopardy.
And that’s because Fox News took one position on a major story that completely betrayed Trump.
Americans were horrified to read handwritten notes from senior FBI officials that revealed one of the goals in interviewing then-National Security Advisor Michael Flynn on January 24, 2017 was to trap him in a lie so they could get him fired or prosecute him.
Even more disturbing was the fact that the FBI tried to use the 1799 Logan Act – which has never been used to successfully prosecute an American citizen – as the pretext for the interview.
President Trump and millions of his supporters recognized these notes as the smoking gun that proved the Russian collusion probe was a politically motivated witch hunt to take down Donald Trump as well as anyone that worked for him.
But “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace rejected this objective fact.
Instead, Wallace leaned on the crutch of Flynn’s guilty plea to continue the fake news scam that Robert Mueller justifiably forced Michael Flynn to plead guilty over lying to the FBI.
“And I was kind of surprised that the President said yesterday, ‘Well, maybe I’ll bring him back to the White House.’ It was the President, before any legal case was brought, who fired Flynn because Flynn had lied about his conversation with the Russian ambassador to the Vice President, Mike Pence. Mike Pence came on ‘Fox News Sunday’ just before the inauguration in January of 2016 and said there was no discussion of that, and it turns out he was basing that on what Flynn had told him and that Flynn had lied to him,” Wallace began.
The “Fox News Sunday” host concluded by stating, “So I’m not quite sure I understand why people are all rallying to Flynn’s case. Did the FBI play hardball? Yeah. Guess what? The FBI plays hardball. And guess what? If you are talking to the FBI, and a lot of lawyers would say don’t talk to them unless you have to, don’t lie.”
Wallace and his fake news media compatriots’ talking points about Flynn quickly collapsed under the weight of more revelations.
A court filing by Flynn’s attorney, Sidney Powell – which sought to have the guilty plea overturned – revealed that Flynn made a side deal with prosecutor Brandon Van Grack to plead guilty in exchange for Van Grack not charging Flynn’s son.
And months prior to Flynn’s guilty plea, the FBI wanted to drop the investigation into Flynn, but Trump-hating Deep State goon Peter Strzok – who was head of counterintelligence at the FBI – countermanded that decision.
In every respect, Flynn was exonerated.
The FBI fabricated the criminal offense that served as the purpose for the interview.
After the interview, the FBI agents involved wanted to drop the matter but were overruled by a political partisan.
And finally, Flynn only pled guilty because of an ethically and legally dubious side deal offered by the prosecutor.
