Donald Trump could not believe what he was seeing.
The President was under fire for his decision to take out Iran’s top terrorist commander.
And this Fox News host said two words that proved the network changed for good.
The fake news media sees it as their job to take any given set of facts and spin them in the best light for Democrats and the most unfavorable framing for President Trump.
President Trump giving the order to take out Iranian terrorist commander Qasem Soleimani was no different.
So-called reporters kicked into overdrive a misinformation campaign to turn a massive strategic victory into a supposed “blunder” that lurched the United States to the edge of an unwinnable war with Iran.
President Trump and his supporters expected fake news outlets like the New York Times or CNN to push this lie.
But in a panel segment on “Fox News Sunday,” host Chris Wallace gleefully pushed pro-Iranian talking points and propaganda about Soleimani’s death.
Wallace asked former Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications Michael Anton if the President’s order to take out Soleimani represented a “dramatic escalation” with Iran.
“Does the decision to escalate dramatically and I think we would agree it was a dramatic escalation to take out Qasem Soleimani, does it make the U.S. more safe or less safe? And if Iran decides to keep its promise to retaliate dramatically, does the Trump administration have a strategy?” Wallace asked.
Anton pushed back on Wallace’s pro-Iran fake news by pointing out that Iran was actually the aggressor in this situation.
“I don’t know that I would necessarily agree that this was a dramatic escalation. You could interpret it as a justified retaliation for all kinds of things that Iran has been doing without much of a response,” Anton responded.
The facts were on Anton’s side.
In recent months, Iran harassed oil tankers in the Persian Gulf, shot down an American drone and bombed oil fields belonging to Saudi Arabia.
President Trump showed remarkable restraint by not responding militarily to these provocations because they did not threaten American lives.
But Iran continued to push the envelope when one of the terrorist militias under Soleimani’s direction staged an attack that killed a United States contractor.
The terrorist militia then responded to retaliatory U.S. air strikes by storming the United States embassy in Baghdad.
That was the final straw for President Trump who then gave the order to take out Soleimani.
President Trump wanted to send the signal to Iran to cut it out.
Donald Trump made it clear that the life of one U.S. contractor was worth the second most powerful man in Iran.
The attack was intended to convey the message to Iran to knock off their escalation in violence and come to the negotiating table to hammer out a peaceful resolution to the conflict over Iran’s rogue nuclear program.
But instead of honestly and fairly covering the situation with Iran, Wallace joined the fake news parade in falsely accusing the President of “escalating” tensions and painting a picture of the terrorist supporting government in Iran as the innocent victim of Donald Trump and America’s bullying.
