Democrats were counting on Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to play her part in the scheme to weaponize the justice system against Donald Trump.
But Joe Biden and his allies got some bad news.
And Fani Willis got destroyed on live TV in this devastating fashion.
Democrats and members of the media whooped it up over Trump lawyer Ken Chesebro pleading guilty in Willis’s 2020 election interference case.
Members of the media claimed Chesebro taking a guilty plea meant he sang his guts to Willis implicating Donald Trump in the broader RICO case alleging Trump engaged in a criminal conspiracy to subvert the 2020 election.
But the champagne quickly got put back on ice.
That’s because Chesebro’s lawyer, Scott Grubman, popped CNN anchor Abby Phillip’s balloon live on CNN.
Phillip came firing right out of the gate claiming Chesebro implicated Trump with his guilty plea and that Chesebro’s promise to testify at trial meant the walls were closing in.
Grubman shut down that speculation telling Phillip that Chesebro never implicated Trump by pleading guilty.
“I am going to respectfully disagree with you on one thing. I don’t think he implicated anyone but himself,” Grubman added.
Grubman told Phillip that Chesebro didn’t plead guilty to the RICO charge that Willis initially indicted Chesebro, Trump and 17 others on meaning that once again Willis admitted her central allegation was bunk.
“And I just want to point out two important facts that I think will get exactly to your question. Not only did he avoid jail time, but this is the most important. He did not plead guilty to the RICO charge. Mr. Chesebro pled guilty and I printed it out to make sure I had the exact words… conspiracy to commit filing of false documents. The RICO charge was dismissed,” Grubman added.
Grubman also disputed the notion Chesebro’s testimony would damage Trump.
“I personally do not see his testimony being helpful for the state,” Grubman continued.
Phillip tried one more time asking if Chesebro was the mastermind of the so-called “fake elector” plot.
Grubman also disputed that notion saying Chesebro doesn’t believe there was a fake elector scheme as Chesebro believed the campaign submitted a slate of alternate electors – like the Kennedy campaign did in Hawaii in 1960 – to keep Trump’s legal challenges alive.
The attorney also noted that the fake elector charge was part of the RICO case and Chesebro didn’t plead guilty to those counts.
“Chesebro doesn’t think there was a fake electors plan and Abby, please again, I know I’m repeating myself, but the fake electors plot was part of the RICO conspiracy and Fani Willis dismissed the RICO charge. And the charge that he pled to has nothing to do with being the architect of the fake elector plot,” Grubman added.
Grubman stumped Phillip by asking the rhetorical question that if Willis could actually prove this RICO case, why did she allow Chesebro to plead guilty to an unrelated charge that carries no jail time?
“If Mr. Chesebro was the architect of the fake elector plot, then would the district attorney of Fulton County offer him five years’ probation and first offender? I don’t think she would,” Grubman stated.

As Willis continues to extract guilty pleas from Trump supporters over charges that don’t have anything to do with the RICO indictment – Chesebro was the third such plea deal – it is becoming readily apparent that Willis filed an overly broad, politically motivated sham indictment to generate negative political headlines for Trump.
Minor figures like Trump lawyers Ken Chesebro and Sidney Powell as well as bail bondsman Scott Hall pleaded guilty to lesser offenses that carry no jail time because Willis knows ordinary citizens lack the financial resources to fight even bogus charges.
Willis overcharging figures like Chesebro, Powell and Hall allows Willis to score guilty pleas that let her allies in the media run wild with speculation that Trump’s “co-conspirators” flipped on him knowing full well that the average person never goes beyond reading the headlines and thus won’t learn that Willis’s case is imploding as she lacks the evidence to prove her main charge of a criminal conspiracy to overturn the election.
