Minnesota Governor Tim Walz set up a showdown with the Trump administration.
Enter Border Car Tom Homan.
And Tom Homan just exposed one awful secret about Tim Walz.
Tom Homan took over ICE operations in Minneapolis following the agents’ fatal shooting of two violent agitators.
Democrats didn’t care that these street militants provoked confrontations with ICE or that President Trump surged ICE into Minneapolis to respond to Somali scammers stealing $9 billion from taxpayers.
Governor Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey whipped up violent resistance to ICE to manufacture mayhem to force President Trump to end mass deportations.
Homan attempted to bargain in good faith.
At a press conference, Homan announced withdrawing 700 of the 2,700 ICE agents in Minneapolis after local governments agreed to alert ICE when jails were set to release illegal aliens.
“We currently have an unprecedented number of counties communicating with us now and allowing ICE to take custody of illegal aliens before they hit the streets — unprecedented cooperation,” Homan stated.
Homan explained that picking up illegal aliens at prisons was safer for everyone involved and meant ICE agents didn’t need to fan out into the community to arrest illegal aliens.
“And I’ll say it again. This is efficient; it requires only one or two officers to assume custody of a criminal alien target rather than eight or 10 officers going into the community and arresting that public safety threat. This frees up more officers to arrest or remove criminal aliens. More officers taking custody of criminal aliens directly from the jails means fewer officers on the street doing criminal operations. This is smart law enforcement, not less law enforcement. It’s safer for the community, safer for officers, and safer for aliens. This coordination also makes it safer for the Twin Cities,” Homan continued.
Homan then announced he was drawing down ICE forces in Minneapolis, but would continue immigration enforcement operations.
“I have announced, effective immediately, we will draw down 700 people affected today. 700 law enforcement personnel. During my press conference last week, I announced that moving forward, ICE will be conducting targeted immigration enforcement operations. Like ICE has traditionally done for decades, based on reasonable suspicion to question and detain,” Homan added.
“ICE will conduct these operations and transnational criminal organization investigations with a focus on national security and public safety. I want to be clear, just because you prioritize public safety threats don’t mean we forget about everybody else. We will continue to enforce the immigration laws in this country,” Homan continued.
Walz and Frey’s response proved that Democrats’ ultimate goal is ending immigration enforcement entirely.
Both whined that nothing would appease them short of complete ICE withdrawal from Minnesota.
“Operation Metro Surge is not making Minnesota safer. Today’s announcement is a step in the right direction, but we need a faster and larger drawdown of forces, state-led investigations into the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, and an end to this campaign of retribution,” Walz posted on X.
“2,000 federal agents isn’t a de-escalation. My ask remains: Operation Metro Surge needs to end,” Frey ranted.
Democrats view illegal aliens as potential new voters.
And Walz and Frey’s reaction to Homan’s olive branch shows Democrats won’t relent in fomenting rebellion against ICE until all deportations end.
