A major trial took place where Donald Trump’s prestige was on the line.

Donald Trump just won an acquittal that will have you jumping for joy.
Donald Trump put his leadership of the Republican Party on the line by weighing in on the impeachment trial of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Paxton is a Trump ally who Trump endorsed over RINO George P. Bush in the last election.
After Paxton’s win, Bush’s fellow establishment RINO Texas Speaker of the House Dade Phelan began plotting with liberal Republicans and Democrats to impeach Paxton.
Conservatives in Texas were furious with Phelan for appointing Democrats as committee chairs even as the GOP controlled the majority, working against a border security bill, not throwing his weight behind school choice proposals, and allowing woke resolutions supporting “Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce Advocacy Day,” and “Texas Latinx Judges Day” to reach the floor.
As attorney general, Paxton filed 50 lawsuits against the Biden administration including 15 to stop Joe Biden’s dangerous open borders agenda.
Paxton also faced a criminal investigation from what he described as the weaponized Biden Department of Justice.
Paxton went to trial in the Texas State Senate facing 16 different articles of impeachment.
The impeachment trial quickly turned into a test of strength between the RINO establishment and the conservative and MAGA grassroots.
Forty-eight hours before the vote to determine Paxton’s fate Trump weighed in with a strong statement of support.
“Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was easily re-elected last November, but now establishment RINOS are trying to undo that Election with a shameful impeachment of him,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Who would replace Paxton, one of the TOUGHEST & BEST Attorney Generals in the Country? Could it be a Democrat, or even worse, a RINO? The voters have decided who they want! Democrats are feeling very good right now as they watch, as usual, the Republicans fight & eat away at each other. It’s a SAD day in the Great State of Texas!”
The trial turned into a farce with at least one of the supposed whistleblowers saying they went to the FBI to report Paxton despite not having any evidence to back up their claims.
When the smoke cleared the Texas Senate acquitted Paxton on all 16 articles of impeachment with none getting anywhere close to the two-thirds necessary to convict.
Paxton’s acquittal demonstrated the latest data point that the GOP establishment couldn’t run roughshod over the conservative base.
Paxton posted a defiant statement declaring his intention to get back on the job and take the fight to both the GOP establishment and the Biden administration.
