Looks like there’s some instability inside of the Democrat party.
In this case, there’s no reason to point fingers at Hillary (although we sure would like to), but she has remained notably silent about the situation.
The issue that’s causing friction is the signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Elizabeth Warren contends if signed it would seriously reduce the sovereignty of the United States. She claims a “buried” provision would “shift power from American courts, whose authority is derived from our Constitution, to unaccountable international tribunals.”
And in this rare circumstance we have to agree with the liberal Democrat.
Liberals in various positions are watching this with concern.
There are, however, signs that the Democratic base’s revolt against the agreement is impacting presidential politics. Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley has come out against it, so has Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Both are considering bids for the presidency. Recall that O’Malley as governor was actually in favor of the agreement – his change on the issue is evidence that the Warren wing of the Democratic Party is becoming influential enough to shift those who want their votes.
So that could expose a weakness in the Democrat party
What we know is the details of the deal remain secret.
Right now any negotiations and any provisions are all in Obama’s control. So when Obama says “I love Elizabeth. We’re allies on a whole host of issues. But she’s wrong on this.” we can rightly suspect he is lying through his teeth.
Any time Obama claims to be doing something for the good of the people he deserves to be scrutinized.
Hardly any of his policies are good for the entire American public.
Obama has asked critics like Warren to trust him on this.
“I would not be doing this trade deal if I did not think it was good for the middle class. And when you hear folks make a lot of suggestions about how bad this trade deal is, when you dig into the facts, they are wrong,” he said recently.
And when confronted on the TPP he said that people were distorting the truth.
But isn’t Obama a notorious truth twister?
Obama’s defense? “Some of this has to do with I think people’s legitimate fears and concerns. Some of it has to do with politics…Democrats aren’t averse to making political arguments that aren’t always entirely accurate. We do it less often than the other side.”
One liberal put it quite simply.
Obama is a 2-bit corporate shill and manservant to the powerful corporations who own DC. His shameful lies will eventually be exposed.
Obama is such an artist when it comes to lying that perhaps he even believes his own lies which makes him more convincing to the dupes of the Democratic Party base. As Warren said, if the deal is so good for workers why’s it being done in secret?
If Obama can’t answer that then it’s because he is a liar.
Do you agree?
