The anti-Trump conspiracy theorists at CNN think they hit the jackpot.
After months of failing to dent Donald Trump, they’ve finally stumbled on a smoking gun.
And they believe it can take down the President once-and-for-all.
CNN is obsessed with the Stormy Daniels story.
The adult film star claims to have carried on an affair with Donald Trump in 2007 – nearly ten years before he ran for office – and received a $130,000 hush money payment from Trump attorney Michael Cohen just weeks before the 2016 election.
Now she is suing to get out of her nondisclosure agreement.
Michael Avenatti – the lawyer representing Daniels – made the cable news rounds where anti-Trump hosts at CNN eagerly lapped up his latest questionable allegations.
He is now claiming someone physically threatened Daniels to stay quiet.
Avenatti said he could not vouch for her stories – nor would he answer any questions about whether he or Daniels had filed a police report – but stated Daniels would answer more questions in an upcoming 60 Minutes interview.
“The lawyer representing Stormy Daniels, the porn star suing President Donald Trump, claimed Friday that she has faced physical threats.
“My client was physically threatened to stay silent about what she knew about Donald Trump,” Michael Avenatti told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on “New Day.” He said more details would be forthcoming in Daniels’ upcoming interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” which is scheduled to air later this month.
“She’s going to be able to provide very specific details about what happened here,” Avenatti said. He would not answer whether or not it was someone close to the President who threatened her, and later told CNN he couldn’t answer a question about whether he or Daniels filed a police report.
Avenatti also told Cuomo his legal team is “not vouching for these stories” and said it was possible he won’t represent the women.
CNN has reached out to Larry Rosen, a lawyer representing Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal attorney, and Jill Martin, a Trump Organization lawyer who has been involved in legal matters related to the Daniels allegations.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, filed suit last week against the President over a nondisclosure agreement she claims is void. The agreement was made just before the 2016 election with Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, who paid Daniels $130,000 for her silence about an alleged affair she had with Trump in 2006.”
Trump supporters see this for what it is.
It’s an attempt by CNN to sensationalize a complete nonstory about Donald Trump’s private life – one that is filled with questionable allegations – to try and smear the President.
Trump is not being accused of anything illegal.
Nor is anyone accusing him of immoral or unethical conduct in office.
Their goal is to smear Trump’s personal life using the politics of personal destruction with the hopes that female evangelical voters will stay home in 2020 and cost Trump the re-election.
This is a transparent attempt to meddle in the upcoming election in order to interfere with the outcome.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this attempt to sabotage Trump’s presidency.
