Chuck Schumer and the Democrats pinned their comeback hopes on the 2018 midterms.
The left completely bought into the media hype about a tsunami of liberal energy sweeping Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi back into power.
But Chuck Schumer’s dream of a blue wave in 2018 may have ended in one interview.
Congresswoman Maxine Waters became the face of the Democrat Party when she told attendees at a rally to get in the face of Trump officials if they saw them out in public.
Waters called for a campaign to terrorize and harass administration officials in order to get the President to back down on his policy of enforcing federal immigration laws.
But the other Democrats began to panic.
Waters demand for liberals to menace and stalk Trump officials threatens to energize Republican voters ahead of the 2018 midterms.
Schumer tried to shut down Waters call for harassment and bullying in a Senate floor speech stating:
“Many of us disagree with the policies of the current administration in a country as large and diverse as ours.”
“I strongly disagree with those who advocate harassing folks if they don’t agree with you. If you disagree with someone or something, stand up, make your voice heard explain why you think they’re wrong and why you’re right. Make the argument. Protest peacefully.”
“If you disagree with a politician, organize your fellow citizens to action and vote them out of office, but no one should call for the harassment of political opponents. That’s not right. That’s not American.”
But Waters was having none of it.
On an interview with MSNBC, Waters dismissed the Democrat leaders calls to back down as political posturing.
Waters said, “You know, I was surprised at Chuck Schumer, you know reached into the other house to do that.”
“I’ve not quite seen that done before. But one of the things I recognize, being an elected official, is in the final analysis, you know, leadership will do anything that they think is necessary to protect their leadership.”
Waters then proceeded to double and triple down on her calls for liberal mobs to terrorize Trump officials:
“Well, let me just tell you this, first of all, the people of this country, no matter Republican or Democrat, do not like the idea that children have been separated. Republicans are making a mistake thinking they can hold on to that constituency, that so-called belongs to Donald Trump. On this issue, Republicans and Democrats, Independents alike are opposed to what is going on. And yes, people do want to see us being stronger and more forceful and to confront them on these policies.”
The California Congresswoman threatened, “And I’m hopeful that even Democrats having seen the kind of outpouring of protests over 700 incidences of protests this weekend, seeing that they will be more forceful, more confrontational and more prepared to push back on this administration. I think that the people are showing them, this-this is what they would have us do.”
Waters made it clear she has no intention of backing down.
In fact, she wants to escalate the left’s summer of rage.
That will only serve to benefit Republicans as voters get a firsthand look at the left’s insanity.
