Barack Obama and President Trump’s rivalry dates back to when Obama was in office.
Obama never got over Trump winning two elections and erasing his legacy.
And Barack Obama instantly regretted one ugly attack when Trump took the gloves off.
Barack Obama hit the campaign trail in Michigan for Abdul El-Sayed in that state’s critical Senate race.
If Democrats fail to hold this seat, their path to a majority closes down.
Polls show El-Sayed holds a narrow lead over Republican Mike Rogers.
But polls also show black support lagging.
And El-Sayed can’t win if black voters in Detroit don’t turn out at normal levels.
During his remarks, Obama couldn’t help but show two things.
The first is that he still suffers from a massive case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
The second is that he is still an out-of-touch liberal elitist.
Obama attacked Trump’s White House remodeling and mocked the new gold décor as lowbrow, like something you’d find at a Cheesecake Factory.
“I mean, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but he seems very focused on home renovations,” Obama said to laughter. “He should be on HGTV. Guy’s building a ballroom that’s bigger than the White House. He’s paved over the Rose Garden,” Obama began.
“Put a helicopter pad on the South Lawn, and there’s gold everywhere. What’s up with the gold? Everything, more gold! He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory! Just gold everywhere. So, he’s clearly not focused on lowering prices for you,” Obama added.
After leaving office, Obama grew his network from around $5 million to a reported $70 million thanks to sweetheart deals with streamers like Spotify and Netflix.
Cheesecake Factory is where the ruling class “slums” it, but where working-class Americans take their families for a night out.
That Obama would insult Cheesecake Factory as some vulgar eyesore helps symbolize why Democrats lost the working class to Trump in the Obama era.
Trump wasted no time firing back.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump listed Obama numerous failures.
“Obama was a grossly incompetent President! He paid off Iran with $Billions, and gave them a road to a Nuclear Weapon. He said that Crooked Hillary Clinton was going to WIN; he campaigned hard for her, and she lost in all directions and ways,” Trump began.
Trump noted that much of Obama’s resentment came from the fact that Trump kept beating the Democrats Obama supported.
“He then campaigned full out for Kamala, and likewise, she lost,” Trump added.
Trump then blasted El-Sayed as a Muslim radical socialist.
“Now he’s campaigning for a Muslim Brotherhood Jihadist, who hates Jews and Blacks and AMERICANS and TRUMP, and he is going to lose, also,” Trump continued.
“He’s a Fake Doctor who runs what is considered to be the WORST CLINIC IN AMERICA. I won Michigan, BIG, have brought back the Car Industry, the Air Force Base, and everything else. Also, more jobs than ever before. Michigan doesn’t want an arrogant, Open Borders, Fake Doctor, Jihadist, whose reputation will only get worse as more information is revealed – And there’s plenty,” Trump concluded.
Obama still hasn’t gotten the best of Trump.
That doesn’t look to have changed.
