Neil Gorsuch was President Trump’s first Supreme Court nominee.
Many consider Gorsuch to be the best of the three.
And all hell broke loose when Neil Gorsuch made this jaw-dropping admission that Trump will hate.
President Trump got some bad news on the fate of his executive order banning birthright citizenship for the children of illegal aliens.
The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the case.
And a recent interview Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch gave to Reason Magazine, indicated Gorsuch is a vote to strike down the order.
That’s because Gorsuch revealed his a big believer in the notion that’s taken root on the left that America is a creedal nation where anyone can become an American and birthright has no bearing on citizenship.
“Our nation is not founded on a religion. It’s not based on a common culture, even, or heritage. It’s based on those ideas. We’re a creedal nation. And I hope we take a moment to reflect on that and to recommit ourselves to that. One more thing, one more thing. It takes courage to defend those ideas. They were not inevitable. And the stories of the men, women, and children in the book, I hope, will inspire children to realize the courage it takes to carry those ideas forward in their own time,” Gorsuch stated.
Trump supporters slammed Gorsuch’s failure to understand that America is more than an idea and that it’s a nation with defined borders, culture, and heritage.
Claremont Institute fellow Jeremy Carl posted on X that if America is simply a creedal nation and reciting a creed makes a nation, how come Liberia turned into a third-world hellscape since its Constitution was directly modeled on the American Constitution?
“Yet Liberia did not turn out like America. Ideal constitutions flow organically from the experiences of particular peoples and can’t simply be randomly engrafted almost whole onto different peoples. Successful nations must build constitutions rooted in their own experience, history, and values. Liberia isn’t the only nation to closely Mimic America’s constitution or declaration– but none of those nations have turned out at all like America,” Carl wrote.
Carl then noted that when America tuned into the world’s dominant economic superpower, the voting population was almost 95 percent Northern and Western European.
“In 1890, the approximate year in which America became the world’s largest economy, between 85%-95% of the American political community (i.e., those with voting rights) was still of Northern and Northwestern European origin,” Carl added.
Even the supporters of the idea that America is a creedal nation don’t actually believe it because Gorsuch would never agree with the idea that anyone who espouses views opposite to the American creed, communists, America haters, etc., can be deported for doing so.
America isn’t just exceptional because of foundational beliefs in freedom, democracy, and individual liberty.
America is exceptional because its founding was grounded in the traditions of Western Civilization.
Importing millions of third-worlders and making them citizens because they recite a creed just turns America into the third world.
