But then something went terribly wrong.

Tara Reade stepped forward with a credible and compelling account of how then-Senator Joe Biden allegedly sexually assaulted her back in 1993 when Reade worked in Biden’s Senate office.
For weeks, the fake news media ignored her allegations.

During an interview with The Wing, Ocasio-Cortez addressed this contradiction and blasted the Democrats and the fake news for trying to “silence” Reade by censoring the news of her allegations against Biden.
“What you’re voicing is so legitimate and real,” Ocasio-Cortez stated. “That’s why I find this kind of silencing of all dissent to be a form of gaslighting.”
Ocasio-Cortez referenced how during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings, Biden and other Democrats bellowed about “believing all women” but were largely silent when Reade went public with her accusations against Biden.
“I think it’s legitimate to talk about these things. And if we want, if we again want to have integrity, you can’t say, you know — both believe women, support all of this, until it inconveniences you, until it inconveniences us,” Ocasio-Cortez added.
“A lot of us are survivors, and it’s really, really hard and uncomfortable,” Ocasio-Cortez went on to call the Democrat and fake news media blackout of Reade’s allegations the “exact opposite of integrity.”
Ocasio-Cortez spoke for millions of young Democrats – whom polls and reporting show are not enthusiastic about Biden’s candidacy – when Ocasio-Cortez compared Biden’s 2020 campaign to Hillary Clinton’s doomed 2016 effort.
“I think a lot of us are just in this moment where it’s like, how did we get here? You know, it almost felt like we started this cycle where we had kind of moved on from, you know, from all of this. And now it feels like we’re kind of back in it,” Ocasio-Cortez continued.
“And, you know, the most diverse field that we’ve ever seen — that we’re kind of back kind of replaying old movies in a way,” Ocasio-Cortez concluded.
Enthusiasm is a major issue for Biden.
An ABC/Washington Post poll found Biden with record low levels of voter enthusiasm for a Democrat candidate for president.
While some national polls show Biden leading the President, the enthusiasm numbers tell a bigger and more important story.
Elections are contests of base mobilization.
And Donald Trump’s base is more fired up to turn out than Joe Biden’s.
