A Democrat made a foolish comment that will make a huge difference in November.
She may have just handed a key swing state to Trump.
A top Democrat made a coronavirus attack on Trump that changed the election.
Trump changed the map of what were considered swing states when he won in 2016.
Democrats know that they need to win back states that Trump won.
Trump only won Michigan by 10,704 votes and the Democrats need to win it if they want to win back the presidency in November.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is choosing the wrong way of winning voters over to the Democrats’ side.
She’s attacking Trump instead of caring for her people.
The worst thing that Democrats have done in the coronavirus outbreak is attack hydroxychloroquine just because Trump promoted it.
There have only been small-scale studies on hydroxychloroquine that are far from perfect and they both show promising results.
In a perfect world, doctors would wait for more testing before giving it to patients but this isn’t a perfect world.
People are dying of coronavirus now and there are no proven treatments when it comes to the Chinese coronavirus.
Even the recommendations for patients on ventilators are changing as more data comes in.
To try and ban doctors from giving their patients the most promising coronavirus treatment is utter madness.
Yet that’s just what Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is doing.
“Prescribing any kind of prescription must also be associated with medical documentation showing proof of the medical necessity and medical condition for which the patient is being treated. Again, these are drugs that have not been proven scientifically or medically to treat COVID-19,” she said in a letter from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
But she reversed course and now is asking the federal government for hydroxychloroquine.
This is too much for the people of her state to take and The Detroit News, a paper that is no friend to Trump, ran an article titled, “Whitmer must make Michigan her priority”.
In the article, they said:
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer must send an unequivocal message to her constituents that Michigan is her priority in this hour of crisis. Her running feud with President Donald Trump calls into question whether she’s acting in the best interests of this state, or on behalf of the Democratic Party.
Unfortunately she’s sending conflicting signals about her priorities and motivations…She’s also assumed the role of designated Democratic attack dog in this crisis, appearing almost daily on cable news shows to criticize the administration’s handling of the virus response.
That creates confusion about whether Whitmer is advocating for her Michigan constituents, or carrying out her duties as co-chair of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, or worse, serving her own ambition to be vice president.
The fact that the Governor is trying promote her political career isn’t good for her state and it isn’t helpful for Democrats hoping to win Michigan.
But most of all, Whitmer needs to concentrate on saving the lives of the people in her state.
