It’s all on the line for Democrats.
From Joe Biden on down every Democrat knows what is at stake.
Barack Obama is terrified this sex crime involving a child will ruin Democrats.
Democrats nervously watch as Republican Glenn Youngkin closes the gap in the polls with Democrat Terry McAuliffe in the Virginia gubernatorial election.
Since 2009, Democrats won every statewide election in Virginia and party leaders fear that a Republican victory foreshadows a rout next fall.
Youngkin made banning critical race theory and mask mandates, and involving parents more heavily in their children’s education the centerpiece of his campaign.
McAuliffe – like every Democrat – is a hostage of the teachers’ unions and committed the gaffe of the election when he said in a debate that parents should have no say in what their children learn in school.
One event that threw McAuliffe and the Democrats back on their heels was the Biden administration using the arrest of Scott Smith at a June Loudoun County School Board meeting as the poster child for the administration’s scheme to unleash the FBI on parents that protest mask mandates and critical race theory.
It turns out that Smith showed up at the meeting demanding answers for why the school district covered up the fact that a biological male wearing a skirt raped his 14-year-old daughter in the girls’ bathroom.
Officials quietly transferred the biological male to another school where police later arrested him for sexually assaulting another girl.
Barack Obama knows how damaging this scandal and cover-up is for Democrats in Virginia, so at a campaign event for McAuliffe, Obama tried to gaslight voters into thinking a father outraged over a school district covering up the fact that a biological male raped his daughter was a phony, made-up culture war fight.
“We don’t have time to be wasted on these phony trumped-up culture wars, this fake outrage, the right-wing media’s pedals to juice their ratings,” Obama ranted.
Obama falsely accused Youngkin of avoiding “serious problems that actually affect serious people.”
“That’s a shame,” Obama added. “That’s not what this election is about. That’s not what you need Virginia.”
On the same day at a well-attended campaign rally Youngkin blasted the Loudoun County School Board for covering up this sexual assault.
“A young girl was sexually assaulted in her school, and the administrators, those who were entrusted with not only her education but her safety, tried to cover it up.
“They quietly moved the offender, an offender being prosecuted for sexual assault, to another school, where he was able to do it again. Two young girls have been sexually assaulted because our system failed to protect them,” Youngkin added.
Youngkin dinged the Biden administration for pushing the transgender agenda on schools while dispatching the FBI to spy on concerned parents and arrest them if they protest the left’s agenda.
“Instead of investigating parents, the Department of Justice should be investigating those who covered up a heinous crime in our school,” Youngkin continued.
Youngkin concluded by stressing that this failure by the Loudoun County School Board only served to highlight exactly why parents needed to be more involved in their children’s schools.
“The time for closed-door conversation and silencing parents is over. We must fix this now,” Youngkin finished.
Democrats like Obama are terrified over how strongly Youngkin’s attacks on Democrats’ support for critical race theory and mask mandates in schools resonated with suburban voters.
The suburbs drifted towards Democrats during the Trump years, and if Youngkin can win over these key swing voters on the issue of parental involvement in education it could portend a larger Republican sweep next year.
